WORST RENTAL CAR EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE (and ive had many). Hertz sends an employee to my pick-up location, walks in with a half eaten donut in his hand, we get in the car and he proceeds to finish eating it while driving. At the Hertz location, I was told by the agent to sign a waiver stating that I wouldnt smoke or have pets in the car...as I get into the car, it smelled of cigarette smoke and was filthy inside & out. I immediately asked the agent for a different car and he gave me the standard answer of "we dont have anymore available." I was also told that my insurance company would be paying for my rental for $30 a day up to 30 days, but he specifically said to not worry about that because I will still be covered for longer if need be. Only had the rental 2 1/2 weeks and got a phone call from the Hertz agent 5 days after I turned in the rental stating that I had to pay extra out of my own pocket due to the amount of time I had the car. DO NOT USE THIS PLACE UNLESS YOU ARE EXTREMELY DESPERATE OR THERE ARE NO OTHER OPTIONS IN TOWN!
A little tricky to find, inside Byers Chevy but that's not listed anywhere. But beyond that, service is impeccable! Thank you Tim for being so accommodating! So much easier than busy airport locations!
I rented a car here recently. There is no sign for Hertz on the building so it was a bit challenging to find. The local folks told me Grove City would not allow a sign. It's inside Byers Chevrolet.
They never answer the phone
"Kat" is the branch mgr. Kat should NOT be a branch mgr or in any service industry! I use hertz exclusively all over this country, I have rented from Hertz in Ohio before. After making my reservation I got a phone call from the branch manager at this location telling me that because I was using a debit card I had to have my own auto insurance and also purchase their auto insurance. I am a truck driver and I sold my car because I am never home visa V I have no auto insurance; and that's why I purchase it through hertz, but apparently that's not the case here at this location. You have to have your own auto insurance to rent a car from them which is total BS and unacceptable. After many calls I finally found a location that plays by the original rules and agreed that these above issues we're complete nonsense and false. I am a gold member but that is totally useless at this location. They don't care about you as a customer. Do not use this location, go somewhere else!
